So she called him out for his bigotry, live on air. For years, Kenyatta Hinkle has used her artistic practice to explore black female bodies. Her current exhibition, titled “The Evanesced,” features 100 drawings, which Hinkle describes as “un-portraits,” evoking black women who have gone missing, whose bodies and lives have been erased. Shemesha Martin recreated the theme-song from the show’s first three seasons for her campaign video for Miss Senior 2017-2018. The remixed song, featuring her friend Jacobi Holt, plays off of the 20-year-old’s last name. You go girl! *Gina voice*
