Kim Kardashian Speaks To Van Jones About The Presidential Pardon Of Alice Marie Johnson — WATCH!

As we reported, Donald Trump granted Alice Marie Johnson clemency after he met with the KUWTK star, who has publicly pleaded the 63-year-old's case.

On Wednesday, after 22 years behind bars, the grandmother — who was originally sentenced to life without parole for drug trafficking — was finally released.

On Friday, in an interview with CNN's Van Jones, Kanye West's wife opens up about her role in securing the presidential pardon for Johnson.

When asked how her meeting with the President came about, the 37-year-old explained:

"When I initially called Ivanka [Trump], I said I would love a meeting with your dad. I said that from the start. Then that took about six or seven months to get… Schedules were changing, and they had rescheduled the meeting and it happened to be on Alice's birthday… This is just all aligned… I just feel this is the right day to do it."

Despite being (arguably) the most famous reality TV star in the world, Kardashian said she was "starstruck" when she saw Trump in the Oval Office.

"I never get starstruck, I was starstruck over the Oval Office."

When she received the phone call from Donnie about Johnson's clemency, Kardashian said her "heart was so full."

"I knew it had to be some news… I was feeling things were looking really positive… Yeah, he called my cell phone… He said that he's really investigated this case… Everyone had a unanimous... feeling of Alice that she will live a great life… She has done her time… She's never had any infractions… and she became an ordained minister. She got so many degrees… He felt her heart and he explained that to me… My heart was so full."

Jones also asked the mother-of-three if she thinks Trump is using her as a political pawn to give him legitimacy. She replied:

"I think Kanye's already given him legitimacy in that way. I was working on this before… I don't think I would be used… At the end of the day, he heard me out, we got the job done. What could he really use me for?"

Mother Outraged By Kindergarten Sign Teaching Kids What To Do In A Lockdown!

On Wednesday, a Massachusetts mother's tweet about a kindergarten sign teaching kids what to do in a lockdown went viral.

While touring a potential Somerville school for her daughter, Georgy Cohen stumbled upon a "jarring" nursery rhyme, set to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

The colorful poster read:

"Lockdown, lockdown, Lock the door/ Shut the lights off, Say no more/ Go behind the desk and hide/ Wait until it's safe inside/ Lockdown, Lockdown it's all done/ Now it's time to have some fun!"

Outraged by what she saw, the Associate Creative Director wrote on Twitter:


She told the Boston Globe on Thursday:

"It's jarring... When I was in kindergarten, we had fire drills. It was different — we didn't have these same types of threats."

That same day, Cohen went on social media to clarify her position: she's not angry at the school, she's angry with the current political/cultural climate "that brought us to this sad state."


According to a joint statement from Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone and Superintendent Mary Skipper:

"Students in Somerville and across the country know how unnatural this is, as evidenced by their vocal leadership and advocacy this year in response to continuing school shootings... Just like school fire drills, lockdown drills have sadly become a common practice in schools, and educators do everything they can to reduce students' anxiety and stress."

They add:

"Unfortunately, this is the world we live in."

Truly an unfortunate situation...

Kate Spade's Brother Warns People Against 'Maligning Her Character' In Pain-Filled Statement

As you've no doubt heard by now, Kate Spade took her own life in her New York City apartment on Tuesday.

Naturally, in the face of such a tragedy everyone who loved her up close or from afar is struggling to make some kind of sense of it.

But in his official statement, Kate's brother Earl Brosnahan -- while appreciative of the sentiments -- wants people to tread lightly when speculating about her mental health. He wrote:

"We are grateful for the incredible outpouring of love and support the family has received over the last few days. We should all remember the beauty and joy that Kate brought to this world.

But it is sad and very hurtful, given the pain the family is enduring, that people with no real knowledge of the situation are leaking false, speculative information that maligns Kate's character and belittles the health issues she bravely fought. We once again ask that the family's privacy be respected during this challenging time."

We hate that Kate's family is going through such pain -- we cannot even imagine.

Well, on Thursday the 34-year-old writer finally confirmed her first pregnancy in a guest article for Britain's Waitrose magazine, all about how to keep up her fitness regime during the first trimester, writing:

"I'm fanatical about sport and have looked at loads of books and websites on exercise during pregnancy but have been disappointed by the limited technical information on what you can and can't do."

She says the couple were staying secretive during the "early months" -- we didn't even see a bump in her Royal Wedding outfit (above, gallery) -- so she couldn't consult a trainer either.

"So I decided to use my own initiative and adapted my current exercise routine, adjusting the weight and intensity to what felt right for me.

I work out for 45 minutes, three to four times a week depending on my energy levels, but ensured that the routines I did were lighter than usual.

That is going to be one unstoppable baby!

Country Star Walker Hayes & Wife Laney Mourn The Loss Of Daughter Oakleigh

What crushing news...

On Wednesday, country singer Walker Hayes announced on Twitter that his seventh child with wife Laney -- daughter Oakleigh Klover -- has passed away.

Because of the tragedy, the musician has canceled all of his upcoming appearances to be home with his family, including Oakleigh's three brothers and three sisters.

The 38-year-old wrote:


Hayes -- who began dating his wife during their junior year of high school -- announced the couple was expecting their seventh child back in November. He told Taste Of Country:

"My kids are losing their minds excited... [Oldest Leila] cried because she was so happy about having a new brother or sister."

We are sending light and strength to the Hayes family during this difficult time.

Kevin Federline Serves Britney Spears With Subpoena In Child Support Case!

K-Fed strikes again!

As we reported in May, Kevin Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan filed court docs saying his client deserves "at least three times the amount" that Britney Spears is currently shelling out in child support for their sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11.

According to US Weekly on Thursday, the ...Baby One More Time singer has officially been served with a subpoena to sit for a deposition to "discuss her personal finances" in regards to the case.

The source revealed:

"Her lawyer, Laura Wasser, accepted the subpoena on Britney's behalf... The subpoena also included financial discovery, including Britney's most recent tax returns, and a completed income and expense declaration."

Reportedly, the meeting is scheduled to take place in the next two weeks.

Despite the drama, a People source said the musician isn't too worried about her ex, and "is happy" and focused on "being a mom to her boys."

The two were married from 2004 to 2007.

The DJ also shares Kori, 15, and Kaleb, 13, with ex-fiancée Shar Jackson, and 6-year-old Jordan and 3-year-old Peyton with wife Victoria Prince.
