R. Kelly Responds To Being The First Artist MUTED By Spotify As Part Of Their New 'Hateful Conduct' Policy!

Spotify is taking an unprecedented stand, and they're starting with R. Kelly.

In a statement to Billboard, Spotify revealed:

"We are removing R. Kelly's music from all Spotify owned and operated playlists and algorithmic recommendations such as Discover Weekly. His music will still be available on the service, but Spotify will not actively promote it."

Sounds like they're following the lead of Time's Up, who are pushing to #MuteRKelly after his numerous accusations of sexual abuse of young women.

But this isn't just about R. Kelly.

It's all part of the the new "Hate Content and Hateful Conduct" policy announced on Thursday in which Spotify may remove or stop promotion of content that "incites hatred or violence" based on "race, religion, gender identity," etc.

It sounds like unlike Twitter, they're trying to get rid of the Nazis.

But the "hateful conduct" part is trickier. As they explain it in their announcement:

"We've also thought long and hard about how to handle content that is not hate content itself, but is principally made by artists or other creators who have demonstrated hateful conduct personally...

While we don't believe in censoring content because of an artist's or creator's behavior, we want our editorial decisions - what we choose to program - to reflect our values. So, in some circumstances, when an artist or creator does something that is especially harmful or hateful (for example, violence against children and sexual violence), it may affect the ways we work with or support that artist or creator."

Apparently R. Kelly and rapper XXXTentacion, who faced charges of battery against a pregnant woman late last year, were the first to be muted in this way.

Kelly's management team responded with a statement to The New York Times, saying Spotify's decision to give into an "ongoing smear campaign" was "unfortunate and shortsighted":

"Spotify has the right to promote whatever music it chooses, and in this case its actions are without merit. It is acting based on false and unproven allegations. It is bowing to social-media fads and picking sides in a fame-seeking dispute over matters that have nothing to do with serving customers."

XXXTentacion's team sent a more pointed, thought-provoking response:

Eesh.

Spotify responded to the Times reporter that they would be looking at each artist on a "case by case basis."

According to a new inside source spilling to ET, the breakup has freed the Back To You singer to get back to her career and her family:

"Selena's focus right now is herself, 100 percent. Right now it's working for her. She's got new music coming out, she's been working on some brand campaigns, and most significantly, she's on better terms with her mother."

Yes, the source says the split has totally reconnected Selly with Mandy Teefey after their recent rift:

"Now that he's out of the picture, Selena and her mom are on better terms. They've even collaborated on some 13 Reasons Why stuff."

Both Selena and her mom are listed as executive producers on the Netflix hit. Good to hear they can work together again!

Sounds like the symptoms of Bieber fever are just too much for Selly. And for his part, Justin even understands that. The source says:

"There's no bad blood between her and Justin. They will always be incredibly important to each other, but they both know that right now Selena doesn't have it in her to be in a serious relationship -- especially one that causes stress and drama in her life."

Taylor Swift Was 'Truly Happily Surprised & Very Impressed' By Katy Perry's Olive Branch!

As we reported, on the first day of her Reputation Stadium Tour in Arizona, Taylor Swift received a note and a literal olive branch from Katy Perry to "clear the air" on their "past miscommunications."

ICYMI, the two divas began feuding after the Swish Swish singer reportedly stole dancers from Tay years ago.

According to a People report published on Thursday, Swift was pleasantly surprised and moved by Perry's gift! The insider revealed:

"She was truly happily surprised and very impressed that Katy reached out... It was a great start to Taylor's tour."

Sadly, their drama might not be over, just yet. According to The Sun Online, Katy was "surprised" that Taylor posted her handwritten note on social media because "it looks like [Katy is] taking sole responsibility for the entire feud."

According to People's source, Taylor's Instagram Story video was not meant to be "mean-spirited" in any way, shape, or form.

"That Taylor posted Katy's letter wasn't mean-spirited... She wanted her fans to know what is going on."

With the controversy behind her, the Shake It Off musician can focus on her upcoming shows.

"The tour kick-off went well. Taylor is very happy with her team... Everyone is doing an amazing job."

On Wednesday, an ET Online insider said Katy sent the olive branch and note because "she is done holding on to the past" and "wants to set a good example for women."

Ooh Yikes — Kim Kardashian Implies Tristan Thompson Blocked HER On Instagram!

Did Tristan Thompson block Kim Kardashian West on Instagram after her interview with Ellen DeGeneres?! As you know, the 37-year-old reality star commented on the "sad" situation on Ellen last month -- and now it sounds like the NBA player banned her from his page as a result!

In a sneak peek of her Friday appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, the KUWTK star says when asked about an update on Khloé Kardashian:

"Last time I went on TV and answered some questions about her, I got blocked on social media. And not from Khloé. No, no, no."

So petty! We love it!

The KKW Beauty founder goes on to say that she's hoping for the best:

"Khloé is so focused on her baby. The baby is gorgeous. She's so happy. I'm always rooting for her, for love. I'm always rooting for families."

We'll have to tune in tomorrow to see what else she has to say!

Nico Tortorella & His Lesbian Wife Still Don't Live Together!

Nico Tortorella and Bethany Meyers may be married, but they aren't sleeping together!

At least not in the literal sense, as the Younger star has revealed that that he and his wife "still don't live together" over a month after they tied the knot.

The 29-year-old explained to People that while he and his longtime partner -- who dated on and off for 12 years -- just bought a house together in upstate New York, they only see eachother once a week:

"We still don't live together. We see each other on a weekly basis. We're FaceTiming all day, everyday."

Talk about a modern family!

Nico said that not much has changed for the queer, polyamorous couple since they wed back in March, except for how they are perceived by other couples:

"People will be so quick to be like, 'This is how long we've been married. This is what works and what doesn't.' As much as we love hearing your stories, we're on our own path here. But it's sweet."

One thing is Nico DEFINITELY sick of hearing about his being a newlywed? The word "congratulations." He explained:

"It's probably the most I've ever heard congratulations in my entire life — and I've booked movies and TV shows and written books! It's the one [thing] that people see as like a huge milestone in your life. And it's interesting to digest that. I think there's so many things in life that can make you happy that you don't get congratulated for; like, congratulations for getting out of bed this morning and smiling."

We guess Nico's still getting out of the bed and smiling without his new spouse by his side.

On Thursday, the KUWTK star returned to Snapchat after a one-month hiatus to tell her fans that she is finally allowed to work out with her trainer.

After complaining about "how big [her] booty looked" in post-pregnancy paparazzi photos, the Revenge Body host was spotted entering a Cleveland gym on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old said in the video:

"Today is the first day that I have been allowed to work out again by my trainer... It feels so good to sweat again... I feel like I am evolving and doing something impressive with my body."

However, KoKo admits she struggles getting back into her fitness routine following the birth of daughter True Thompson. She reveals:

"Mentally I am strong, but physically it's not the same. My body is not doing what my mind tells it to do, that's the struggle."

Kardashian also says it's hard to exercise in between her baby's feedings.

While she does not mention Tristan Thompson's alleged cheating scandal, she is seen wearing a gorgeous teardrop diamond necklace. Perhaps a push present from her man??

Intruder Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Rihanna's Home & Spending The Night!

A man was tased and arrested Thursday when police discovered he had broken into and spent the night at Rihanna's Los Angeles area home!

According to TMZ, police were alerted about a potential intruder Thursday morning on suspicion that the songstress's alarm had been tampered with.

Once authorities arrived at the scene, they found an intruder who appeared to have stayed overnight. The cops reportedly ordered the man outside; he complied, but for unclear reasons had to be tased while being detained.

Thankfully, RiRi was not home at the time of the alleged break-in. Police have not revealed if anything was stolen or how the man might have gotten inside.

The intruder will be booked for residential burglary.

"I was really happy with Revival but at the same time I was terrified of doing another record... Because for me it could be like it was a step down. I needed to beat that record, and I think every artist kind of struggles with that. So I waited. So does that mean it's almost done?

"Yes, I am finishing up the album, but we're also trying to figure out a fun way to take our time. There's no date there's no idea for it but I have a lot of music that I've collectively put away."

"I feel the best I've felt. Just, for now -- I'm hoping to keep beating it.
