According to People, Married To Medicine star Dr. Simone Whitmore and husband Cecil Whitmore are divorcing after 21 years of marriage. In the current season of the hit Bravo show, the Spelman College alums have been open about their marital problems, where Simone claims Cecil can be very "hostile and angry." Related: THIS Married To Medicine Star Was Arrested For Domestic Violence! The OBGYN told her castmates the news on Thursday in New York, where Whitmore and co. are filming the season 5 reunion. According to the doctor:
While the couple attended counseling, they found it difficult to consistently make time for therapy given their hectic schedules.
A month after their son Miles, 19, started college, the two got into a "blow-up," which ultimately lead to their split.
Despite the drama, Simone is optimistic about starting "a new chapter," and is looking forward to what life has to offer.

The Satanic Temple has been fighting a legal battle in Missouri over laws forcing women to jump through extra hoops to get abortions -- making them one step closer to illegal. Hilariously they're using the infamous Religious Freedom Restoration Act -- yep, the one businesses have been using to refuse service to the LGBT community -- as their central argument. "Mary Doe" says she was forced to view an ultrasound of her fetus and read a "life begins at conception" pamphlet -- as well as waiting 72 hours -- before getting an abortion. Her lawyer argues these medically unnecessary steps shouldn't be forced upon her because she "adheres to principles of the Satanic temple" and "has deeply held religious beliefs that a nonviable fetus is not a separate human being but is part of her body and that abortion of a nonviable fetus does not terminate the life of a separate, unique, living human being." The Satanic Temple's Jex Blackmore explained:

Everyone already knew this was just a way for the religious right to obstruct a woman's right to choose -- we just never thought someone would use their own religious protection laws against them! The most shocking part? It looks like they may actually win their argument! Missouri's Solicitor General D. John Sauer agreed that the State's interpretation of the law is not that women should be forced to go through this, only offered the "opportunity." No official ruling has come down yet, but by that declaration they already have struck quite a blow for women's rights. BTW, the Satanic Temple does not believe in Satan as a literal being but as an inspiration for rebellion. |
