As you'll recall, the superstar is singing later tonight for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in New York City, hoping to make up for a dreadful performance at this same event last year that became the most embarrassing thing we'd seen in quite a while. Catelynn Lowell Baltierra flew back home to Michigan on Saturday afternoon, returning to husband Tyler Baltierra and daughter Novalee after leaving the state several weeks ago to seek treatment for depression and suicidal thoughts. And her other daughter -- Carly, who she placed up for adoption back in 2009 -- also sent her an adorable gift upon Catelynn's return to her family! Awww!!! Neither are we, but politicians are definitely thinking about it -- and according to one powerful Democrat, it sure sounds like Joe Biden may be the man of choice to run against Donald Trump in the next race for President! Really?! Don't get us wrong -- Biden is great, and goodness knows he's WAY better than The Donald, but are we really picking between two 70-something year old white men??? | Posted: 31 Dec 2017 10:59 AM PST Meghan Markle has a REALLY big year ahead in 2018, but if she's anything like the Suits actress who used to run the now-defunct blog The Tig, well, her New Year's Resolutions for tomorrow will be exactly the same as they were year after year after year before now! According to The Telegraph, a January 1, 2016 blog post on Markle's old site The Tig lays out a very specific list of New Year's Resolutions for 2016 -- and confirms, from Markle directly, that those are her resolutions every year. In the blog post from almost exactly two years ago, Markle writes that the same few resolutions "make my New Year's resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year," despite the fact that, well, she still hasn't achieved any one of 'em! | Three Months After Hurricane Maria, 45 Percent Of Puerto Rico Is STILL Without Power Posted: 31 Dec 2017 09:54 AM PST Are you listening, Donald Trump?? As the calendar readies for its turn to 2018 and we all collectively try to wipe away the truly shitty year that 2017 has been on SO many levels, you're well within your right to let off some steam (safely!) tonight and enjoy a celebration with friends, family, and loved ones. But please, all of you -- and especially our ridiculous Commander in Chief -- need not forget about Puerto Rico, where people (American citizens!!!) are still suffering horribly from the after-effects of Hurricane Maria. Related: Puerto Rico Evacuees Forced To Abandon Their Pets It's been three full months since the hurricane made landfall on the American island, and now, officials are saying 45 percent of the nearly 1.5 million customers there STILL don't have any power. How is that possible in this day and age, and in THIS country??? A woman named Susan Tierney, an expert on this type of thing who testified before a U.S. Senate committee on restoration efforts in Puerto Rico recently, put it best in a new Associated Press report out today (below):
So, so shameful -- and such bad leadership straight from the top. Of Puerto Rico's 78 municipalities, there is one -- Ciales -- that is still completely without power. And only this week did power crews finally restore electricity to parts of Yabucoa, a southern coastal town that was one of the first hit by Maria. Where is Donald Trump?? But, like, seriously... he has time to whine about mid-term elections (of which he's not involved) and try to slam-dunk on Hillary Clinton over the stock market, but he doesn't have time to, you know, take the lead on Puerto Rico? We need a leader that will focus on helping AMERICAN CITIZENS recover from a hurricane that happened more than three months ago!! Longtime celebs Hugh Hefner and Mary Tyler Moore passed from natural causes. And the world lost rock stars Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell too soon as both committed suicide. | Posted: 31 Dec 2017 08:11 AM PST Nothing like having a good ol' knockdown, drag out fight -- in public -- between a bunch of celeb exes with complicated baby momma relationships and a ton of accusations flying around, right?! Perfect thing to end 2017!!!! So here's where we're at now with the messy situation between Tamar Braxton, Vincent Herbert, Laura Govan, and, um, apparently Gilbert Arenas: Braxton has called out Govan for being Herbert's alleged mistress who is having a love child (more HERE), and Braxton then went on the record to talk about Herbert's Christmas Day arrest and give an update to her divorce proceedings (more HERE). Govan is now opening up to TMZ, telling the outlet that she is NOT the "whore" Braxton mentioned as allegedly getting pregnant by Vincent Herbert. Laura claims not only has she never been with Vince, but that she's not pregnant at all, and is in a happy relationship "with someone else." Hmmm... as for what Tamar's motivation would be if she were lying, Laura speculates that it's Arenas, the former NBA star (and Govan's ex) who started the Herbert cheating rumor, and that's fueled Braxton more than, you know, actual facts. Ok. So THAT would make sense as to why Arenas COMPLETELY went off on Instagram late last night. He called out Govan and really, really made things messy with a big rant that started right here (below):
