Star Wars: The Last Jedi Completely Dominates The Box Office In Opening Weekend!

It's a GREAT weekend for the Star Wars franchise!

The Last Jedi delivered an early Christmas present for everybody involved with the movie -- and every theater owner in America -- over the weekend with a MASSIVE near-record $220 million debut in North America.

That marks the second-best showing of ALL TIME behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Wow!!!!

Worldwide, director Rian Johnson's flick took in just as successful a weekend, too: The Last Jedi totaled $230 million more from 54 international markets, giving them a full launch of $450 million on the first weekend.

Now THAT is a great weekend!!!

Dave Hollis, the Disney distribution chief, said the studio had expected The Last Jedi to fall behind The Force Awakens, but it sounds like even Disney was surprised by how successful the newest Star Wars installment was this weekend (below):

"The results speak to the power of representation. It's a movie that is relatable, both because of the characters and the conflict."

It's also a movie that is a true blockbuster now too, thanks to a historic first week. And here's the kicker: The Last Jedi hasn't even opened in China yet!!!

The flick is set to open there on January 5th, which will give it another HUGE push in theaters in a few weeks' time. Amazing!!!

Ferdinand also opened this weekend (the only film that decided to open against The Last Jedi), and took in $13.3 million -- the lowest debut of ANY Fox Animation/Blue Sky title.

Coco stayed strong, too, taking in more than $10 million over the weekend for a global haul now of $448.2 million. Not bad!!

Amy Smart Standing By Husband Carter Oosterhouse Despite Sexual Misconduct Allegations In His Past

Actress Amy Smart isn't backing away from fighting for her family!

Her husband of six years, HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse, has been accused of sexual misconduct by a former makeup artist, and now Amy has responded with a very strong piece on Instagram proclaiming his innocence and defending her family.

She shared the picture you can see (above) of Carter and ther 11-month-old daughter, Flora, with the full caption (below):

"We are in a climate right now where it's so wonderful and needed to have women coming forward to break their silence; it is vital and important for female equality. Period. A lot of the stories are horrific and need to be brought to light. This story, about my husband, Carter Oosterhouse, on the other hand, is now taking it too far and boundaries are being crossed. When you are in a CONSENSUAL RELATIONSHIP, then you need to take responsibility for engaging in that and not play victim. IF a relationship does not work out the way you want it to, then sorry, but that is the risk you take when getting intimate with another person. There are plenty of relationships I wish I could go back and make different choices about, but it was on me to decide. We need to take responsibility and learn from our mistakes and choices. Women are powerful and we need to be reminded of the strength and power we hold and learn ways to take care of ourselves so we don't find ourselves saying yes when we really need to say no. The article is very damaging and cruel to one of the most kindest, loving, non-aggressive men I have the privilege of knowing and I am so sorry for these salacious words being thrown around, they are extremely hurtful. This type of reporting needs to stop, it's so damaging for personal lives and careers and just not fair. Enough is enough, this is a plea to the writers, outlets and media…More due diligence needs to be done before crafting headlines and stories. Obviously, years-old allegations from Oosterhouse's old show Carter Can are not something that Smart is taking lightly -- or seriously.

Definitely not shy about standing by her family and standing up to what she believes is a consensual relationship that shouldn't be included in the annals of sexual misconduct.

Rose McGowan Calls Out 'Hypocrisy' Of Meryl Streep And Others Planning To Wear Black At Golden Globes

Stars like Meryl Streep and several other actresses are planning on wearing black to the Golden Globes this year to protest gender inequality and produce a silent protest that they hope will speak volumes at the award show, but Rose McGowan, for one, isn't having any of it.

McGowan took to Twitter on Saturday evening and called out Streep by name, pointing out 'hypocrisy' and the fact that the gowns would 'affect no real change' in a biting tweet that... made some sense, if we're being honest.

Here's what McGowan wrote in full regarding Streep and 'The Pig Monster' Harvey Weinstein (below):

Whoa!!!!

Strongly spoken from Rose, but she is kind of right -- protest gestures can be important and powerful, but wearing black gowns at the Golden Globes isn't going to move the needle on sexual misconduct as much as it's going to raise awareness to the harassment... that has already been bravely and incredibly raised all across America by hundreds and hundreds (and thousands!) of women in all high-profile walks of life coming forward.

We're in the midst of a sea change here. Black gowns are a nice gesture, but maybe we're past that already, and we can move on to tangible actions?

2017 left the Sex And The City fam divided. As you may recall, Kim Cattrall put Sarah Jessica Parker on blast for going public with her "disappointment" that SATC3 wasn't happening. Why?? Well, because, it left Kim vulnerable to press assumption that she was the reason the third installment wasn't happening.

Not only did Cattrall note that SJP "could have been nicer" in the way she broke the news, she also confirmed their long rumored beef by sharing that she didn't "know what her issue is." Man, oh man.

Gene Simmons Accused Of Sexual Battery In Disturbing New Lawsuit

This isn't a good look for KISS bassist Gene Simmons, especially in today's #MeToo climate after the happenings of the past few months around entertainment and politics.

A radio and television broadcaster is suing Simmons after she says he groped her and made "unwanted, unwarranted sexual advances," during an interview that took place on November 1st.

The suit was filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court by the plaintiff, who wished to remain anonymous and was only identified as "Jane Doe."

She alleges the incident took place at San Manuel Casino in Highland, California, when she was interviewing Simmons and bandmate Paul Stanley.

According to the lawsuit itself, the 68-year-old Simmons "repeatedly grabbed the woman's hand and forcefully placed it on his knee and held it on his knee."

Simmons also "forcibly flicked/struck" the woman in the throat, and then gave her an "incoherent explanation" for his behavior.

What the fuck is wrong with this dude?!

The suit further goes on to allege that when posing for a photograph, Simmons grabbed the woman's butt, while also making sexual innuendos and inappropriate conversation throughout their entire interview.

A longtime radio personality for a local rock station, it's clear that this woman means business here.

Her lawyer, Willie W. Williams, told the media (below):

"She filed suit because she wanted to make a strong statement that this behavior is unacceptable and she wants to see an end to this type of behavior."

Amen to THAT!!!

But hold on, can we ask a serious question?

This incident allegedly took place on November 1st, which means Gene Simmons would've seen literally DOZENS of high-profile men in entertainment and politics getting busted and taken down over sexual misconduct scandals for MONTHS leading up to this interview, and he still thought "you know what, this is a good idea."

Seriously, Gene?!

Sofia Richie Will Not Be Appearing On KUWTK Because Of THIS Reason!

Maybe we'll see her on the show soon, but at least for now, Sofia Richie will NOT be a part of any future KUWTK episodes even though she's so involved in BF Scott Disick's life!

A report is out new in TMZ this morning that has production sources claiming there are "zero plans" to cast Sofia in the show, and when Scott does have to tape for the reality TV series, she'll avoid him on those days.

The reason for it is actually really simple, and probably really smart: Scott and Sofia haven't yet really figured out how to navigate the fact that he has kids, and they don't want to push her onto the kids just to be on the reality TV show.

So, she decided to avoid taping since that's usually the time when Scott is with the Disick babies.

Apparently, Kourtney Kardashian had nothing to do with it -- production sources claim Kourt didn't ask producers to keep Sofia away, nor do the sisters personally know Sofia at all.

So it really comes down to just being smart about how to introduce Sofia to the children... and doing it on a reality TV show seemed like a bad idea.

Honestly, not a bad call, right?! Is it actually possible? Is Scott actually -- gasp -- maturing with age???

PS -- if you do see short clips of Sofia on the show anyways, it'll likely be an "inadvertent shot during one of Scott's club appearances," according to the source... since that's when she's typically with him.
