| Ashley Graham Says She Was Sexually Assaulted When She Was 10 Years Old Posted: 14 Apr 2017 06:22 PM PDT What a horrible thing to go through! In her upcoming memoir A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like, Ashley Graham reveals she was molested by a male adult when she was only 10 years old. Related: Ashley 's Exes Sound Like The WORST! According to the book, the Nebraska-native details the horrific incident where after going swimming, the 18-year-old son of her parents' friends forced her to touch his erection in a laundry room. The scary episode left the model "with so many lingering questions." In the tell-all, the Vogue cover girl also opens up about the verbal abuse she received from modeling execs and from her own father. During one event in her past, both her dad AND a Ford Models agent felt she needed to lose weight. The memory still stings the 29-year-old to this day. Additionally, Ashley opens up about using cocaine and Ectasy when she first moved to New York. During her second year in the Big Apple, her substance abuse made her miss a flight to a modeling job, which almost caused her to be fired from her agency. We applaud Ashley for her honesty, and we think it's so brave of her to tell her story! [Image via WENN.] |
| Star Wars: The Last Jedi Will Officially Be Carrie Fisher's Final Appearance As Leia Posted: 14 Apr 2017 05:42 PM PDT Star Wars Celebration in Orlando should have been a weekend of pure joy; unfortunately everyone is still reeling from the loss of Carrie Fisher. But while the fans are mourning, the filmmakers have been scrambling. Carrie's part in The Last Jedi (above) was already completed at the time of her death, and spoiler alert -- her character was meant to have a large part in the next installment as well. Much ado was made of the possibility that Princess General Leia would live on digitally, thanks to the use of posthumous character recreation in Rogue One and to comments from those close to the project. Related: Meet Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Rose, AKA Kelly Marie Tran! But now we have definitive word from the very top. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy herself says Leia will not return in the Episode IX. Writer-director Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Derek Connelly, along with the rest of the Lucasfilm braintrust, had to work hard to figure out how to continue the saga without one of its leaders. Kennedy told EW they threw out the story they had and "pretty much started over." No old footage will be used. No digital recreation. Leia will not be part of Episode IX. But now at last, Kennedy says, they've found a way to explain her absence, though of course, we'll have to wait until we see how Episode VIII ends before they can share any part of it with the fans. Are YOU happy they're letting Leia go?? [Image via YouTube.] |
| Delta Is Now Offering Up To TEN GRAND To Take Your Seat! Posted: 14 Apr 2017 05:29 PM PDT It's truly a small price to pay... As we reported, United Airlines changed its overbooking policy after the company was BLASTED on social media for forcibly dragging Dr. David Dao off a crowded flight. Related: United Pilots Address The Shameful Dragging Incident According to new rules, the airline can only deplane a passenger if it's absolutely imperative that a crew member make the flight in order to work another flight AND if he or she arrives an hour before boarding. In order to avoid a PR nightmare like United, Delta Air Lines recently rectified its policies, and you can make some serious dough if you're willing to give up your seat! On Friday, the Associated Press obtained a memo where officials said Delta gate agents can offer up to $2,000 (originally from $800), and supervisors can offer up to $9,950 (from $1,350) to a willing passenger. Last year, DAL paid more money to bumped travelers than any other airline. Delta FTW! [Image via WENN.] |

| United Airlines Changes Its Overbooking Policy! Posted: 14 Apr 2017 02:59 PM PDT Little by little, they're making progress. It was announced Friday that United Airlines has made changes to its overbooking policy as it relates to employees. Related: United Pilots Address The Shameful Dragging Incident Now, a passenger can only be removed to accommodate a United crew member if it's absolutely imperative that the crew member make the flight in order to work another flight AND if the crew member arrives an hour before boarding. In this way, passengers who have already been seated won't have to be removed. Instead, passengers might be kept from boarding at the gate or earlier. TMZ reports there have also been some emails being exchanged today between higher-ups. In one email, a Senior VP of In-Flight Service wrote:

| Department Of Justice Drops Federal Lawsuit Against North Carolina Over Anti-LGBT Bathroom Bill! Posted: 14 Apr 2017 02:29 PM PDT Donald Trump's administration is letting North Carolina take a huge piss on progress. On Friday, the Department of Justice said it was dropping the lawsuit it filed last year over the state's controversial "bathroom bill" -- which restricted transgender people's use of public bathrooms. The Obama administration previously alleged the Tar Heel state violated the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which bans discrimination based on sex, and argued the federal rights law also applied to trans discrimination. Well, the Trump administration sees the issue differently -- or more accurately, not worth their precious golf-playing, bomb-deploying time. Related: NC Lawmaker Compares Abraham Lincoln To Hitler! Justice Department officials said they were bowing out of the lawsuit because NC legislators recently repealed a portion of the law that clearly banned many trans people from using restrooms that match their gender identity in government facilities. But while one part of the law, known as HB2, was repealed, state legislators kept another portion intact and added a new measure -- and the final product still leaves plenty of room for LGBT discrimination. The current policy bans local governments and schools from regulating bathroom access, and bans local LGBT rights rulings until 2020. North Carolina joined the Trump administration in moving to dismiss the case on Friday. Governor Roy Cooper and state congressional leaders did not comment on the move because the state government is closed for Good Friday. How appropriate! Related: NC Lawmakers Attempting To Ban Same-Sex Marriage! Even so, North Carolina isn't done fighting for this policy in court; the American Civil Liberties Union is still suing the state over the bathroom bill. ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio is unsurprised the Trump administration dropped the ball on this fight, explaining:
Like LGBT activists say, this bill still encourages barring trans people from participating in public life. Which is why it's so disheartening to see the Justice Department tap out. This fight isn't over! [Image via Instagram.] |
