Police Have Positively Identified Christina Grimmie's Murderer

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 02:37 PM PDT

Now the information is starting to flow.

Orlando police have positively identified Christina Grimmie's murderer, not even a full day after the musician was so tragically and publicly murdered after a performance in the central Florida city.

According to Orlando cops, the man is 27-year old, and from nearby St. Petersburg, Florida -- just a two-hour drive from Orlando.

Police are confident in saying the man's name is Kevin James Loibl.

They believe he drove from his home in St. Petersburg to the event Friday night in Orlando while making plans to return to St. Petersburg after the show.

Obviously, that's a sign that at least at some point in the process, he felt like he was going to get away with the crime.

Loibl committed suicide after Christina's brother tackled him to prevent him from escaping or harming other people after he walked up and fired on the singer after the show.

Orlando police have released this picture of Loibl (below):

Police have searched Loibl's home, though there's no indication yet about what they found.

Such a needless, senseless act of violence.

RIP, Christina.

Christina Grimmie's Longtime Manager — Who's Also Selena Gomez's Stepfather — Speaks Out On Singer's Death And Hopes To Raise Money For Family

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 01:48 PM PDT

We are still just heartbroken over Christina Grimmie's horribly tragic death late Friday night.

Now, more celebs and entertainment industry insiders are trying to wrap their head around it, like Brian Teefey -- the man who was Grimmie's longtime manager and also, coincidentally, Selena Gomez's stepfather.

Speaking in a statement to PEOPLE, Teefey said:

"Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided."

And Teefey continued, obviously incredibly heartbroken:

"As family, Mother, Father, and Brother made the ultimate family sacrifice to support Christina on her musical journey. They did nothing but love her and support her as family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery."

In light of that -- the sacrifices the family has made on Christina's behalf, and the challenges they now face in light of the tragedy -- Teefey has been motivated to start a GoFundMe page to raise money in honor of the singer to help her family.

Rest in peace, Christina.

Stanford Rapist's Mother Wrote The Court A Ridiculous Letter Likening Her Son's Slap On The Wrist To A 'Death Sentence'!

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 12:54 PM PDT

OH COME ON!!!

It's not enough that convicted Stanford University rapist Brock Turner's father decided to write a tone-deaf letter to the court that went viral, but now his mom had to go and do the same thing?!

Related: 600 Witches Place A Hex On Turner And Persky!

News reports indicate that Carleen Turner sent a letter off to controversial Judge Aaron Persky asking for leniency in sentencing after her son was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a dumpster after a frat party at Stanford.

The letter, in part, implored Persky to let him off easy, with Carleen writing:

"I beg of you, please don't send him to jail/prison. Look at him. He won't survive it. He will be damaged forever and I fear he would be a major target. Stanford boy, college kid, college athlete -- all the publicity. This would be a death sentence for him."

She went on:

"He has never been in trouble, never even had a demerit in high school, he studied, swam worked hard. His dreams have been shattered by this. No NCAA Championships. No Stanford degree, no swimming in the Olympics (and I honestly know he would have made a future team), no medical school, no becoming an Orthopedic surgeon. I know what a broken heart feels like. It is a physical pain that starts just below the collar bone and extends to below the rib cage, it is a crushing and heavy ache that feels like I am being squeezed. This feeling has not left my body since the verdict. This verdict has destroyed us."

Oh lord.

Adam Levine Shares Touching Photo, Message On The Voice Alum Christina Grimmie's Death

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 09:34 AM PDT

Ugh.

Late last night, when it wasn't clear whether or not Christina Grimmie would survive a shooting after a Florida concert, The Voice coach Adam Levine took to Instagram with a poignant message for the performer.

The Maroon 5 frontman -- who had Grimmie on his season 6 team of the reality music competition -- shared a photo of the two of them together (above), while delivering a very serious and sad message (below):

"I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this...this just isn't fair."

Obviously, Grimmie has since passed away after Levine made the post.

So horribly, horribly sad.

Our thoughts continue to be with Christina's friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Christina Grimmie May Have Been Fatally Shot By A 'Deranged Fan,' According To Reports

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 08:59 AM PDT

This is so awful.

As we reported, The Voice alum Christina Grimmie was shot and killed at a show on Friday night in Orlando, Florida -- and now, police are zeroing in on why.

Related: Boyfriend Allegedly Recorded Rape & Murder Of 15-Year-Old Girl

According to Orlando Police Chief John Mina, it appears that a deranged fan is the one responsible for shooting and killing Grimmie.

Mina said, simply, at a press conference:

"That would be speculation, but that's what it's looking like."

According to authorities, the fan apparently traveled from elsewhere in Florida to Orlando carrying two handguns and a hunting knife with the intent to commit the crime.

After the shooting, Grimmie's older brother Marcus tackled him to the ground, at which point the suspect killed himself.

Police said they were working to release his name later on Saturday morning.

And Mina did not have a good motive for the crime other than the randomness of it, saying:

"There's no indication that he knew her, we're looking into that to try and find a motive for the crime."

He also gave a nod to Marcus' quick-thinking actions that could have prevented further loss of life by immediately tackling the suspect to the ground:

"Very heroic actions by Marcus to jump in, and definitely could have prevented further loss of life."

So, so sad.

RIP, Christina.

Johnny Depp's Legal Team Skeptical Amber Heard Is Looking For A Payday — But The Actress Strongly Denies Those Claims

Posted: 11 Jun 2016 07:54 AM PDT

He said, she said, but in such a serious and sad situation...

While Amber Heard continues to claim her motivation is far from financial in a bid to get a restraining order against Johnny Depp, the actor's insiders are very skeptical that the whole thing may be a money grab.

Related: Benicio Del Toro Defends Johnny & Goes After Amber!

The new theories from Depp's camp are centering around a letter Amber's lawyer sent to Jake Bloom -- Johnny's entertainment lawyer -- a few weeks ago, just days after the alleged infamous iPhone attack.

The letter read, in part:

"Amber wishes to work quickly towards a private and amicable resolution of all matters, but she will need Johnny's immediate cooperation to do so .. and to work out solutions outside of the public eye."

The letter also made a list of financial demands on Heard's part, which Johnny's camp now alleges is, of course, just a shakedown.

On the other hand, though, sources close to Amber are telling TMZ that the letter and the demands are very routine in a case like this -- and merely meant to sustain Amber through a difficult time as she leaves Johnny and the courts decide what to do.

Either way, Depp has made a counteroffer of Heard, apparently, but it does not yet appear that her lawyers have responded to it.

And the drama continues...
