Tonys Makes History When Actors Of Color Sweep Musical Categories

Host James Corden started off Sunday's Tony Awards by calling it "the Oscars, but with diversity," and it showed in the night's winners. Thanks to cast members from "Hamilton" and "The Color Purple," actors of color swept the musical acting categories. The show struck both uplifting and somber tones after the Orlando gay nightclub shooting Sunday -- Corden opened the night with a profound message for the Orlando shooter, and "Hamilton" mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda referenced the tragedy in an acceptance speech.

After the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, several notable names have shared heartfelt messages of support. Adele teared up while speaking about the shooting during a concert, while John Oliver shared his message on his show, "Last Week Tonight." Perhaps Stacey Dash could take a page out of their book when it comes to publicly responding after a tragedy.
