7 websites for the cheapest flights

7 Of The Best Websites To Follow For Cheap Flights

Let’s be real: Travel isn’t cheap. But it can be stunningly low-cost, if you know where to look.

We recently chatted with The Points Guy to learn where he turns to find cheap flight deals. His expert picks — along with a couple of our tried-and-true favorites! — include:

The Flight Deal: THE go-to source for flight deals. The Twitter feed has been known to pump out new deals every few minutes during peak hours!

Secret Flying: A nice, clean Twitter feed with only flight deals, and no clutter.

Airefarewatchdog: Great deals, with added commentary to make sense of what’s available.

The Points Guy: Flight deals, airline reviews and credit card advice so you can maximize your points.

FlyerTalk Mileage Runs: Ideal for savvy travelers, this Twitter feed uses airport abbreviation codes and other shorthand. Deals are rarely posted on Facebook.

JetBlue Airways: Every so often, JetBlue will have a flash sale that absolutely blows our minds. They’re worth a follow!

Southwest Airlines: Two can play the flash sale game, and Southwest does it well

Sushi Donuts Are Here, So Prepare Yourselves

In the wonderfully weird world of food mashups, there are winners and there are losers. The Cronut, for instance, is an all-star. Ramen pot pie on the other hand, the world could have done without.

But today, friends, we found a winner. Behold, the sushi donut (or doughnut, depending who you are).

Don’t worry, we’re not talking about a deep fried, chocolate-covered California roll. A sushi donut is simply the components of sushi formed into the shape of a donut.

Food blogger Sam Murphy, aka So Beautifully Raw, created the vegan sushi donuts above by shaping cooled sushi rice with a donut mold and decorating the rings with black sesame seeds, ginger, wasabi, cashew mayo and avocado. Though Murphy’s donuts are vegan, we’re already dreaming up creations that incorporate fish, shrimp, roe and tempura.

Ashley Graham Shatters Body Image Standards With One Photo

Cellulite has become a dirty word. So many women do everything in their power to hide it or get rid of it, but the reality is, it’s a part of life. So why not celebrate it?

Well, on Wednesday, model Ashley Graham used Instagram to do just that.

The brunette beauty posted a photo of herself riding a bike, with her cellulite exposed. Accompanying the photo was the caption, “A little cellulite never hurt nobody.. Stop judging yourself, embrace the things that society has called 'ugly.’ #lovetheskinyourein #beautybeyondsize“ And all we can say is PREACH.

3 Tricks To Telling If A Watermelon Is Ripe

If you know what to look for, you can be sure of a watermelon’s readiness before cracking it open. Here’s what you need to know:

Look for the spot. The telltale sign that a watermelon is ready to be sliced open is the spot. A good watermelon will have a pale yellow spot on the rind, indicating that it was left on the ground to ripen in the sun. If there’s no yellowish marking, be wary.

Make sure it’s heavy. Another sign you’ve got a good melon on your hands is the weight. If you pick up the watermelon and it feels really heavy — heavier than it looks — you’ve hit the jackpot. The heavier the melon, the better it is.

Knock on it. Sure, you might get a little side eye from other grocery store shoppers, but give the melon a listen for a final test. Gently knock on the watermelon and listen for a hollow sound that makes a “plunk” rather than a “thwack” sound.

If a watermelon passes those three tests, you’ve found yourself one worthy of your next summer barbecue.

Just for you!
