After four years of dropping mics and spitting truths, Jessica Williams is done with “The Daily Show,” she exclusively revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
Hired as the youngest and first black female correspondent in the Comedy Central flagship’s history, Williams is set to soon headline her own half-hour scripted series for the network, as well as pursue other solo projects.
This Thursday’s episode marks Williams’ final appearance (for the time being) on the late-night series, which means we have one last Williams segment to cherish before she signs off for good.
“The sadness I have for Jessica leaving is only eclipsed by the joy I have for her starting her new show,” “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah told EW in an email. “If her podcast is anything to go by, it’s going to be an exciting show!”
A new Pew Research study released Monday shows that black and white America have profoundly different views on race and inequality.
The study, which involved 3,769 adults (1,799 whites, 1,004 blacks and 654 Hispanics) and was conducted between Feb. 29 through May 8, says that the results show how black and white America are worlds apart, and when it comes to achieving equality, black respondents see it as an elusive goal.
Here are six takeaways that highlight some of the important points from the study.
Even with his popular album “Views” currently dominating the charts, Drake was recently able to set aside some time to share a few words of wisdom and encouragement with a group of young fans in South Africa.
The multi-platinum chart-topper made a special visit to the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg, South Africa, Monday where he shared how his experiences growing up in Toronto, Canada, inspired him to follow his dreams.
“I encourage you to do everything you can to make the future here as bright as you possibly can,” he said to those in attendance. “We’re all young. We all have some end goal or some dream. And take it from me, I sat around for a lot of days thinking about my family, my loved ones, where I’m from and trying to make the place where I’m from proud of me.”
Back in March, vlogger La Guardia Cross announced that his 1-year-old daughter Amalah would be running for president.
In their newest video, the father-daughter duo presents the first “Toddler Candidate Press Conference.” During the hilarious Q&A, the dad exposes some of the toddler candidate’s weaknesses — such as her refusal to share or listen to her parents, finicky eating habits, nightmarish behavior at bedtime and tendency to cry when she doesn’t get her way (or even when she does get her way).
Still, Amalah is pretty darn cute. Toddler for president?
