Jared Kushner's real estate firm sought money directly from Qatar government weeks before blockade

This is the shortest newsletter ever -- I just wanted to share a new piece from me and Clayton Swisher: Jared Kushner's real-estate firm sought hundreds of millions of dollars directly from the Qatar government in April 2017 for its distressed property on Fifth Avenue. Qatar said no. Shortly thereafter, Kushner supported a diplomatic assault on Qatar -- one Trump took credit for -- sparking a crisis that is ongoing today and reshaping the Middle East.
